Causes of Acne

If you have been battling with acne infection for quite some time, it is best to know the possible reasons why you have it so that you can effectively treat and prevent it from affecting your life again. There are actually a lot of ways to treat acne infections (refer to Acne No More). Some of them are effective, while some are not. Because of this, there is always a possibility that it will recur, especially if the treatment used does not attack the root cause of it. Thus, it is time that you should know what causes acne, so that you can get rid of it for good, and prevent it to appear on your face again.

To make it very simple, the very cause of acne is actually the overproduction of your body’s natural oil, which is called sebum (refer to what is acne). When there is too much oil on your skin, it can clog up your pores, which can collect dead skin and dirt, and become a favorite breeding ground for bacteria. When your body senses this disturbance, its reaction would then be characterized by the presence of red bumps that you call pimples.

With that, if you are able to control the production of sebum, then you will gain control of acne, aside from being able to effectively prevent it from happening again. To do that, you need to identify the reasons why your body would be triggered to have overproduction of its natural oil.

One of the reasons behind that is the imbalance or constant change of your body’s hormone levels. This basically explains the occurrence of more pimples among teenagers, since they go through certain hormonal changes at that stage of their life.

Another factor that can trigger it is stress, which is why even adults have bouts and bouts of acne, especially if they have gone through a lot of stress.

There are also a number of external factors that can trigger over build up of sebum, such as being exposed to a lot of dust, as well as certain industrial materials. In fact, many people working at the kitchen of restaurants that do not have good ventilation also experience bouts of acne, for the reason that their skin is constantly exposed to cooking oil, floating around the kitchen area.

Now that you are aware of some situations that will trigger the overproduction of sebum, the best way to avoid acne is to simply veer away from them. For example, if you have been under a lot of stress lately, then you should identify the root cause of your stress, so that you will be able to get it under control.

Try to ask yourself questions about other types of situations that you may have gone through quite recently, which may have triggered overproduction of natural oil. By knowing what causes acne, you will soon be able to come up with your own solution, to address your acne problems.
